The Federal Reserve in the US has signaled that by the end of March it will end up its mortgage bonds purchase program.

Purpose of Purchase program

The $1.25 trillion mortgage-backed securities purchase program was created with a purpose of bringing down mortgage rates and in order to provide support to the housing market.

In the first week of January 30-year mortgage rates averaged 5.09%.
