Whether you are living in New Jersey or New York, you have to pay for the property tax but the contradiction which arises here is of how wisely you take the decision of where you have to live.

This is important because each state has a different tax rate and tax system, therefore if you know where you could get the cheapest rate possible then plan for that place after your retirement.

Amount Of Taxation

In the practical world, all the taxes are borne by the tenant, if the owner has rented their place or by the owners themselves if they are living in that place. These taxes are then used for benefiting the society in various ways. Our children might enjoy in terms of public schooling or the community might enjoy in terms of hospitals and parks. However, the question arises here that how much tax is reasonable upon your property.

Therefore, it would be recommended that when you go home shopping and are looking for a new house, then make sure that you keep this aspect in your mind and check how much tax has to be paid in that state which you are going to live in.
